Tucker Max has written three #1 New York Times Best Sellers, which have sold over 3 million copies worldwide. He is credited with being the originator of the literary genre, “fratire,” and is only the third writer (after Malcolm Gladwell and Michael Lewis) to ever have three books on the New York Times Nonfiction Best Seller List at one time. He co-wrote and produced the movie based on his life/book, also titled “I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell.” He was nominated to the Time Magazine 100 Most Influential List in 2009. My guest in this episode is John Bogdasarian. John sets the strategic direction for the Promanas Groups’ investment portfolio. He structures the financial terms of all real estate acquisitions, is available to all Promanas Investors, and oversees all major decisions. John started Promanas with nine initial investors and has strategically guided the firm to serving more than 300 investors today. He prides himself on operating the company as a close-knit, boutique firm that creates substantial value for its’ member investors. Investing in a broad real estate portfolio has taught John the skills needed to achieve his goal of creating value for tenants and investors. Promanas currently has ownership in multiple entities with more than two million square feet of industrial, warehouse and distribution space as well as over one million square feet of office space. A graduate of the University of Arizona, John started his real estate career in 1996, working in residential sales. He quickly became a top-selling agent in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He soon shifted his focus to commercial transactions and obtained his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 1999. CCIM designees are recognized as leading experts in commercial investment real estate and only 5-10 percent of commercial investment professionals have achieved the CCIM designation. In 2016 Chris Rawley, while visiting a farm investment in Central America, conceived the idea of building a crowdfunding platform to streamline agriculture investment. He soon founded Harvest Returns to bring that vision to reality. Rawley has held corporate management roles in Jones Lang LaSalle, Electronic Data Systems, L-3 Communications, and served as a defense consultant at Special Operations Command headquarters with Blackbird Technologies. He has invested in real estate and income-producing agriculture for nearly two decades. As a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve, Rawley is the Commanding Officer of a unit focused on building maritime security partnerships in the piracy-plagued Gulf of Guinea. During his military career, Rawley has previously served as Commander of Special Operations Command Forward, East Africa, where he led a multidisciplinary team of Navy SEALs, Army Green Berets, and support personnel focused on defeating Islamic extremists. My guest in this episode is Danielle DiMartino Booth. Danielle is a global thought leader on monetary policy and economics. She is the author of FED UP: An Insider’s Take on Why the Federal Reserve is Bad for America. FED UP, which rose to #22 on Amazon’s Best Seller List, is currently in its fifth production run. DiMartino Booth founded Money Strong LLC in 2015. Through her economic consultancy, she has published a weekly newsletter for 132 consecutive weeks. Aside from her vast direct distribution network, more than 100,000 readers enjoy her newsletter on a weekly basis via Linked In, Seeking Alpha, Nasdaq, Talk Markets and dozens of other websites. DiMartino Booth is also a full-time columnist for Bloomberg View, a business speaker, and a commentator frequently featured on CNBC, Bloomberg, Bloomberg Radio, Fox News, Fox Business News and other major media outlets. DiMartino Booth recently accepted a position as Senior Economic Advisor for Commerce Street Capital. Prior to Money Strong, DiMartino Booth spent nine years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas where she served as Advisor to President Richard W. Fisher until his retirement in March 2015. She continues to research, write and speak on the financial markets, focusing recently on the ramifications of credit issuance and how it has driven global fixed income, equity and real estate market valuations. Sounding an early warning about the housing bubble in the 2000s, DiMartino Booth has earned a reputation for making bold predictions based on meticulous research and her unique perspective honed from years of experience in central banking and on Wall Street. DiMartino Booth began her career in New York at Credit Suisse and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where she worked in the fixed income, public equity and private equity markets. DiMartino Booth earned her BBA as a College of Business Scholar at the University of Texas at San Antonio. My guest in this episode is Chris Voss. Chris is the Founder and CEO of the Black Swan Group Ltd and author of Never Split The Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It. He has used his many years of experience in international crisis and high-stakes negotiations to develop a unique program and team that applies these globally proven techniques to the business world. Prior to 2008, Chris was the lead international kidnapping negotiator for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as the FBI’s hostage negotiation representative for the National Security Council’s Hostage Working Group. During his government career, he also represented the U.S. Government at two (2) international conferences sponsored by the G-8 as an expert in kidnapping. Prior to becoming the FBI lead international kidnapping negotiator, Chris served as the lead Crisis Negotiator for the New York City Division of the FBI. Chris was a member of the New York City Joint Terrorist Task Force for 14 years. He was the case agent on such cases as TERRSTOP (the Blind Sheikh Case – Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman), the TWA Flight 800 catastrophe and negotiated the surrender of the first hostage taker to give up in the Chase Manhattan bank robbery hostage taking. During Chris’s 24 year tenure in the Bureau, he was trained in the art of negotiation by not only the FBI but Scotland Yard and Harvard Law School. He is also a recipient of the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement and the FBI Agents Association Award for Distinguished and Exemplary Service. Chris currently teaches business negotiation in the MBA program as an adjunct professor at University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. He has taught business negotiation at Harvard University, guest lectured at The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, The IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland and The Goethe School of Business in Frankfurt, Germany. My guest in this episode is John Larson. John started in real estate at the age of 17 flipping houses with his family. He worked on the crews doing manual labor and learned what it took to properly renovate a home. From there, he became a real estate agent in Michigan and worked at the #1 brokerage in the entire state. While at Max Broock Realtors, John worked with some of the largest investors in Michigan to build multi-million dollar rental portfolios. Through the connections he made, John landed a position at a large investment fund as an Acquisitions Manager, where he focused on investment opportunities in Michigan, Missouri & Georgia. John and his team purchased nearly 400 assets in one year. While working in Missouri, John crossed paths with the team at American Real Estate Investments. The team at AREI was impressed by John’s youth, enthusiasm, and track record in the single-family rental space, and invited him to join their team. Knowing that AREI was a large, fast-growing producer of single family rental properties, John jumped at the opportunity to become their Sales Director. In John’s first six months at AREI, he purchased, renovated, and sold over 150 properties in St. Louis and Kansas City, netting the company more than one million dollars. Today John is a Managing Partner at AREI, where he continues to help grow the company into one of the best turnkey real estate providers in the entire country.
