  In this episode, we look at Social Security and other social programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. This episode is designed to be a wake-up call for anyone that is depending on Social Security and other social programs. I am ringing the alarm for anyone willing to listen! Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and other social programs are by their own financial reports bankrupt. – I am not saying this, the government is telling you that. The projection  also is that the entire social security program will be done in 2034. In the words of the report,  it states that the OASI Trust Fund, which is the only primary trust fund still solvent,  will,  in turn, quote “become depleted and unable to pay scheduled benefits in full on a timely basis in 2034.” We have enormous government debt, unfunded entitlements and social programs and 76 million aging baby boomers retiring over the next 18 years and claiming social security and social program benefits that will put even more stress on these programs.   In today’s episode, I will discuss the Wealth Pyramid.  The Wealth Pyramid provides a great example to build a solid foundation for a well-structured wealth plan. This Wealth Pyramid is something that anyone can structure for themselves regardless of income level and net worth. So many people do not build their wealth pyramid with a solid foundation and risk all of their capital because of this. We look at the concepts of saving, investing and much more.   Bestselfco., Make Success a Habit! • The bottom of the pyramid and first foundational piece is of the wealth pyramid is your health, relationships, your mindset and your soul purpose and human life value which includes your skill sets and special gifts.

• The second layer is your conservative layer that includes a dashboard for your financial information, your credit score and strategies to improve your credit score, flexible spending plan, wealth capture strategies to capture your wealth and save 6 months to 2 years of income in liquid savings, protective strategies like life insurance, car insurance, home owners insurance, estate planning, tax planning and emergency preparedness strategies like food, water and other needs as well as cash on hand and precious metals
• The third layer consist out of moderate strategies that include businesses that you control, conservative real estate investments, conservative paper assets like certain bonds, and more precious metals
• The fourth and final layer at the top of the pyramid is the growth portion of your plan. If you have the first three layers in order,  this layer allows you to swing for the fences in business, real estate, commodities and paper assets. This should be the money that you could afford to lose.

• You can’t truly trust anybody but yourself with your money.
• The harder someone tries to convince you to trust him, the less you should.
• However good a track record someone has, never believe that he/she can’t suddenly start losing your money. In fact, if you are like me, the moment you invest will be the moment his/her track record starts falling apart.
• All markets rise and fall. Don’t ever believe anyone who assures you that they can predict the future.
• If you don’t learn to spend less than you make, you will never have peace of mind.
• Most of what you buy when your income is above $100,000 is discretionary. Don’t fool yourself into thinking you need a big house or a fancy car.
• In making financial projections for yourself or a business, always create three scenarios: one that shows what things will look like if everything goes as hoped; one that shows what will happen if things are mediocre; and one that shows what will happen if things fall apart.
• Know that the third scenario is optimistic.

In today’s episode, I discuss Parkinson's Law. Norcote Parkinson wrote a book called Parkinson’s Law where he isolates some limitations of us all and particularly focuses in on the behavior of individuals within a group. In Parkinson’s Law he writes, “Work expands to meet the time envelope allowed.” Meaning if we have 5 days to complete a task, it will take us 5 days to complete the task. If we were allowed 30 days to complete the same task, we would take 30 days to complete the task. Parkinson’s law also states that, “a luxury, once enjoyed, becomes a necessity” and “expenses rise equal to income” In a financial context, we can define Parkinson’s Law as: the more you earn, the more you spend. When our income increases, our expenses rise to meet or exceed that increase. We are always working against Parkinson’s Law. Bestselfco., Make Success a Habit! • We can combat Parkinson’s Law is by establishing an wealth infrastructure and system to beat it within your wealth plan.
• You can set up a separate account in which you can make weekly or monthly deposits. These deposits can be set as a fixed amount or a percentage of the money you earn. This will ensure that a percentage of very dollar that comes into your personal economy is automatically captured in a separate account.
• You can automate this infrastructure so it removes the “human element” from it
• How your “wealth capture account”, is a great vehicle to build  liquid savings reserves that can be accessed for emergencies, as well as for capitalizing on investment opportunities.

In today’s episode, I try to answer a listener’s question of what factors to consider before we invest in something. If we take control back of our own money and take personal responsibility and accountability for our own wealth, what factors should we consider before investing in anything? This is extremely important. The first thing we should invest in, is our own financial education. We should never invest a single cent into something that we do not understand. • Do you have control over the investment, can you improve the performance and limit the downside?
• Does it provide cashflow?
• What is the return on investment and cash-on-cash return?
• What is the exposure to market risk, does it provide a return in all markets?
• What is the exit strategy for the investment?
