Emily and Kirk Du Plessis are real estate investors who focus primarily in the buy and hold niche.  They bought their first rental property in 2012 shortly after they were married with little money or knowledge of the space.  Emily was an English Teacher who was able to leave her job to manage their rental portfolio and stay home with their three children.  Kirk runs an online options trading website that focuses on education and software for options traders. Together they have built their rental portfolio trying various types of rental properties: multi-family, student rentals, vacation rentals, etc. and teach other newbie investors how to get started with rental property at RentalRookie.com.
